MICHI’M & IMTIAZ - IMPERMANENCE

The most important trait of all organic creatures like plants such as cotton or life like humans is Impermanence. That is the perhaps the only constant, most known in this world by time. The change of the state of atoms and everlasting movement of all organisms and objects. As humans, like all organic creatures, we are impermanent but we like to leave something behind. Exempli gratia, post-mortem Victorian portraits called the “living dead’.

In our deepest desire we want to hold on to things that have already passed in our life. That feeling of first love, the first bite we eat of that most amazing dish from that new restaurant your closest friend invited you to. We want to hold on to something that is already gone. These nostalgic beliefs keep us from living in the present. Especially in uncertain times contemplating values, of our own or society. In need and always searching, maybe even escaping, for an aesthetic medicine or luxury escape. The simple act of being validated, even if it’s about the tinniest bit of validation of what we are doing means everything, to each their own in a certain way.

Everybody wants to be remembered. It’s about legacy. “To go forward you have to leave something behind” paraphrased of Isaac Newton’s third law.
